What documentation do I need to provide?

Hiring tools with Daventry Tool Hire is simple. if you’re hiring for the very first time we will need to verify your details. We require two forms of corresponding ID (e.g. driver's license or passport) and a recent proof of address (e.g. utility bill or bank statement).

When does my hire start and end?

Our hire duration structure is as follows:

• 1 Day - Hire is for 24 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment.
 • 2 Days - Hire is for 48 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment.
 • 3 Days - Hire is for 72 hours from the time of receipt of our equipment.
 • 1 Week - Hire is for 7 days from the time of receipt of our equipment.
 • Weekend - Hire from 9.00am on Saturday until 10.00am Monday morning. If available equipment may be delivered on Friday afternoon.

Note - Equipment that is to be collected by ourselves will be considered ‘Off Hire’ once we have been instructed by the customer that it is available for collection. The security of any equipment remains the hirers responsibility until it has been physically collected by ourselves.

The equipment will be collected at the earliest opportunity that is convenient for you – Usually the same or next working day.

Question 3

Can I reserve equipment for a later date?

Yes, equipment can be reserved in advance by telephone, email or in writing.  We always recommend booking your equipment as early as practically possible.

I’ve never hired tools before, will I be shown how to use the equipment?"

We offer demonstrations on the safe working and operation of all of our equipment. 
In addition to this an owners manual with step by step instructions will be provided to you upon receipt of the equipment.

How much does delivery and collection cost?

Rates for delivery and collection vary depending upon location. Please contact us directly to be provided with a competitive quote.

Every effort will be made to have the equipment collected and delivered at a time specified by you.

Question 6

Do I need to pay a deposit?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a deposit is charged on all hire equipment. This is fully refunded when the equipment is safely returned.

Do you accept credit or debit card?

Accepted Answer

Daventry Tool Hire accepts all major credit and debit cards, we also accept cash payments on most equipment too.

Question 8

What are your opening times?

Accepted Answer

Daventry Tool Hire opens from 7.00am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am till 12.30pm on Saturdays.

If requested or in case of an emergency we may be able to deliver and collect equipment outside of these hours, although an additional rate will be required.

How do I cancel a hire?

If for any reason you wish to cancel your hire you can cancel by calling or emailing us directly.

We kindly ask for adequate notice of cancellation as we may have already incurred charges relating to the preparation and transportation of the hire equipment.

Question 10

Is fuel included with my hire?

Accepted Answer

All hired equipment will arrive with a full tank of fuel and is to be refuelled prior to collection or return. If this is not possible we can refill on your behalf and a charge will be applied per litre.

Important: From 1st April 2022, all fuel used in our machines is white diesel or petrol in line with government legislation. As such customers must only use white diesel or petrol when refilling the machines.

Any filling of red diesel will result in a charge to drain, dispose, clean and refill the machine.

Will you provide me with the correct PPE?

Here at Daventry Tool Hire we are very safety conscious and want to make sure you're safe too. 
We will advise the correct PPE at the point of hire and can supply all equipment on a sale or return basis.

Question 12

Do I need to clean the equipment before returning it?

Accepted Answer

We kindly ask that you clean all equipment hired from us before returning it. 
A cleaning charge may be applied if equipment is returned to us dirty.

How do I make a complaint?

We work hard to delight our customers. However, if you don't feel your hire experience was everything it should've been, we'd like to know so we can do something about it. Please email us with your concerns and we will respond to you as soon as possible.

Does the price include VAT?

Vat is to be added to the final bill and is calculated at its current rate of 20%.
All prices are exclusive of VAT.
